Early Georg Jensen Art Nouveau Bug Pin 19
This Art Nouveau "bug" brooch, designed by Georg Jensen himself in 1905, is a rare find from the Vintage Georg Jensen Jewelry Collection. The balance, detailing, and flowing design of this lapis lazuli-clad Cicada results in an eclectic and elegant piece. Variations of this important brooch are noted in Georg Jensen Jewelry, by Yale Press, and Georg Jensen, A Tradition of Splendid Silver, by Drucker. Based on the markings, it was likely produced between 1933 and 1944.
